When looking for a career training school, the most important question you should ask is “Is this right for me?” The best way to find out is to come to Bay State and actually sit in on and experience a live class, with real students and knowledgeable instructors. You’ll see first-hand our commitment to “Hands-On” training in the classroom and in the shop and lab areas. We think that after sitting in on a real class, you’ll be better able to answer that question “Is this right for me?”
Over the years we’ve learned that if you like what you do and work hard, your job satisfaction will he high. Like anything in life, you get out of life what you put into it. Do you know any successful people who don’t enjoy what they do? Nope. That’s why we want you to come and sit in on a class, ask questions, and talk to students and instructors so you can then answer the question “Is this right for me?”
In our Major Appliance/Basic Electricity course, you’ll learn about electricity and how it works; you’ll learn how to read a wiring diagram and how to use it to diagnose problems. You will learn about all the major components of a refrigerator and actually put them together to make your own fully-functional unit from scratch. In addition we will prepare you for EPA 608 and PSA on-site testing and certification.
Commercial HVACR will immerse you in the basics of larger refrigeration and cooling units, electronic controls, ice machines, heat pumps, and more. This program prepares you to work in the commercial side of the industry and provides 100 hours of Massachusetts Refrigeration Code and 150 hours of Massachusetts Electrical Codes.
Our Electronics Technician program features instruction from Basic through Advanced Electronics, Computer Repair and Networking, Telecommunications Networks, Security and Access Systems and with the “Hands-On” training you will be able to install, test, maintain and repair electronic systems.
