Career Week at Bay State Tech!

Students everywhere start the school year off with all-important question, where will this course take me? We know that the idea of starting a new career in just a year seems lofty, and that’s why we are inviting interested students and families to the Bay State Tech Career Week Open House!

Career Week at Bay State TechFrom August 18 to 23, we are welcoming everyone to sit in on live classes, meet instructors, students and staff and most importantly of all, get the answers all of those looming questions:

What can I do as an electronics technician?
Look around you, how many things are electronics right now? Electronics technicians install, repair, troubleshoot and service a wide spectrum of common devices that run on electricity. Photo copy machines, personal computers, HD televisions, and even electric car charging stations are all appliances that require electricity and a skilled technician nearby.

What major appliance companies could I work for?

Our faculty and graduates currently work and have previously worked for major appliance retailers such as Sears, Best Buy, as well as major appliance brands such as Whirlpool, GE, Maytag, LG, Electrolux and Frigidaire.

What type of demand is there for HVACR?
On both a domestic and commercial level, the demand for HVAC service and equipment is supposed to increase to nearly $17 billion. Therefore, the need for skilled technicians to install and repair equipment like heat pumps, air conditioners and refrigeration systems is higher than ever.

How does my job affect the environment?
Since the Clean Air Act of 1990, Bay State Tech has been training its students to efficiently recapture, recycle and safely dispose of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) used in refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers.

With technology constantly evolving, how will I be able to apply this to my job?
New students start their program with a brand-new laptop/tablet by their side. Already included in the tuition, Bay State Tech students are trained to use the computer as a smart tool for troubleshooting.
