COMPANIES ARE LOOKING FOR YOU?

Does the idea of working with your hands appeal to you?  If it does, companies are looking for you.  There is a nationwide need for highly-skilled Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technicians.  You could be one of them.

At Bay State School of Technology we can train you for your new career as an HVACR, Major Appliance Repair or Electronics Technician in less than a year.  You’ll get the skills needed to set yourself above the crowd and stand out during your job interview.  In addition, employers trust Bay State.  When they need a new technician, they don’t put an ad in the paper or on Craig’s List.  They call the Student Services office at Bay State and tell us exactly what they need.

We can do this with you and there is no prior experience required.  This is possible because we use a time-tested “Hands-On” teaching approach.  School time is split about 50/50, with half the time in the classroom, and the other half in the shop or lab.   What you learn in the morning in the classroom, you put to use that afternoon in the shop to reinforce what you’ve learned.

We offer you training to become an entry-level Major Appliance Repair, Domestic Refrigeration & A/C, HVACR or Electronics Technician.  In our Major Appliance/Basic Electricity course, you’ll learn about electricity and how it works; you’ll learn how to read a wiring diagram and how to use it to diagnose problems.  You will work on real washers, dryers, dishwashers, microwave ovens and other appliances, as you learn how to repair them.

Bay State’s Domestic Refrigeration course covers the basics of refrigeration theory in terms of home refrigerators and air conditioners.  You will learn about all the major components of a refrigerator and actually put them together to make your own fully-functional unit from scratch.  In addition we will prepare you for EPA 608 and PSA on-site testing and certification.

Commercial HVACR will immerse you in the basics of larger refrigeration and cooling units, electronic controls, ice machines, heat pumps, and more. This program prepares you to work in the commercial side of the industry and provides 100 hours of Massachusetts Refrigeration Code and 150 hours of Massachusetts Electrical Codes.

Our Electronics Technician program features instruction in Basic Thru Advanced Electronics, Computer Repair and Networking, Telecommunications Networks, Security and Access Systems and with the “Hands on Training”  you will be able to install, test, maintain and repair electronic systems. You’ll also receive preparation for the A+ Exam and on-site ISCET certification.

You don’t need a set of tools to learn how to be a technician.  We’ll provide you with all the tools you’ll need to learn your new career.  In addition, all students will receive a brand-new, state-of-the-art laptop computer to enhance the learning experience.

Starting on your new career path is easy.  Come and visit the school.  Take a tour of the school and meet with staff and students so you can ask any questions you want.  We encourage you to sit in on a live class and see for yourself how our students learn to become technicians.  Bring a friend or family member as well.  You can visit the Student Services and Financial Aid Offices to meet the people who will help you to find a job and find funding to pay for your education.

If you’re a Veteran, you’ll find that Bay State is a Military-Friendly Institution, ready and willing to do whatever it takes to get you on that new career path.
