Are you a problem-solver? Do you love to “open up the box” and see what’s inside? If the answer is yes, a career as a Major Appliance, HVACR or Electronics Technician may be just what you’re looking for. At Bay State School of Technology, we specialize in “Hands-On” Training. What you learn in the morning in the classroom, you’ll put to use that day in the lab or shop. Our industry-experienced instructors will teach you everything you need to know to become a trained technician. And the best part is this: No Prior Experience Is Required. In addition, we’ll prepare you for the industry-specific certification testing, such as the ISCET (International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians) or the PSA (Professional Service Association) Certification test for Appliances and HVACR and administer the test as part of your program. All students will receive a laptop computer, and training on how to use it not only as a learning tool, but as a diagnostic tool as well. The laptop will belong to you at the end of the course. When you complete the course, you will be a highly-trained entry-level technician, capable of dealing with a large variety of Major Appliance, HVAC or Electronics-related equipment. Our graduates find work all over the United States, which means that your certificate is extremely portable. You could end up with a career at a Fortune 500 Company, thanks to your training at Bay State Tech. Bay State School of Technology offers a variety of programs that lead to new careers. In our Major Appliance/Basic Electricity course, you’ll learn about electricity and how it works; you’ll learn how to read a wiring diagram and how to use it to diagnose problems. Bay State’s Domestic Refrigeration course covers the basics of refrigeration theory in terms of home refrigerators and air conditioners. In addition we will prepare you for EPA 608 (commonly known as Freon Recovery) on-site testing and certification. Commercial HVACR will immerse you in the basics of larger refrigeration and cooling units, electronic controls, ice machines, heat pumps, and more.
