Freon Recovery Certification

The Clean Air Act of 1990 requires recapture recycling and safe disposal of chlorofluorocarbons CFCs and hydro chlorofluorocarbons HCFCs used in air conditioners refrigerators and freezers as coolant Under the Act no one may accept an item containing CFCs and HCFCs for recycling or disposal unless the Freon contained within it is properly removed and the owner hauler appliance company can show proof of proper removal It is also unlawful for any person to knowingly release or vent CFCs or HCFCs into the air The EPA requires certification for all technicians removing Freon as of 11 1494.

If you need to handle Freon, you need to be certified. Bay State offers a one day Freon Recovery Seminar followed by the certification test. Hundreds of students have taken the seminar and tests with excellent results.
