Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Training School

Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Training School founded in 1982 in response to the Major Appliance and Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Industry's demand for qualified service technicians. This school is The Bay State School of Technology, Inc.

The Bay State School of Technology, Inc. is a co-educational, technical school committed to providing students with an accelerated but thoroughly comprehensive training program in Domestic Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Commercial Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Appliances Technical Training and Basic Electricity and Digital Age Technology composed of HDTV, Mobile Installation, Electronics and Computers.

The training at Bay State School of Technology is intended for men and women who are mechanically inclined, physically capable, motivated, and have a sincere desire to be employed in the Major Appliance, Domestic Refrigeration and Air Conditioning field, Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning field, or the Electronic and Computer Technology field.

Air Conditioning & Refrigeration training starting with basic electricity, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings; as the basis for all diagnostic problem-solving. Students will be exposed to and work on all domestic and commercial systems. Our graduates go to work for all the major appliance manufacturers and service providers in the United States.

Domestic Air Conditioning - Covers the history, theory of operation, safety, installation, soldering, evacuation, charging, wiring, leak checking, repair and troubleshooting with an emphasis on hands-on training. Also covers FREON recovery and reclaiming.

Commercial Air Conditioning - Covers the history, theory of operation, safety, installation, soldering, evacuation, charging, wiring, leak checking, repair and troubleshooting with an emphasis on hands-on training. Also covers FREON recovery and reclaiming and Refrigeration & Electrical Code.

Commercial Refrigeration - Covers the history, theory of operation, safety, installation, soldering, brazing, epoxying, evacuation, charging, wiring, leak checking, repair and troubleshooting with an emphasis on hands-on training. Also covers FREON recovery and reclaiming and Refrigeration & Electrical Code.

Building on refrigeration basics, Commercial Refrigeration will introduce the student to larger refrigeration and air conditioning units, chillers, air and water cooled systems, heat pumps, furnaces electrical and refrigeration code, and more.

About the Bay State School of Technology

Bay State School of Technology is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology, and is approved for Veteran's Training by the Veteran's Administration. Certificates are awarded for successful completion of all programs.

Bay State specializes in Hands-On Training, which makes up approximately 50% of each program. We encourage all prospective students to visit the school, bring a friend or relative and sit in on a real class, so the student can experience what a real class is like, meet the instructors, and speak with our students. An informed student, one who makes the effort and does the research, is usually our best student.
